A Lost or Replacement title means you are needing a duplicate title. This is the easiest and most inexpensive way to replace a title. You will need current indentification from the registered owner. The following is a list of acceptable forms of ID:
- State or U.S. Government or U.S. Territory issued photo IDs, such as Texas or other state drivers license or identification card.
- U.S. or foreign passport (U.S. passport card is acceptable) or military identification.
- North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) identification or identification issued under a Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA); or
- United States Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, or United States Department of State identification document.
- Native Americans may present one of the following: a. Enhanced Tribal a. Card (U.S. Customs and Border Protection); or, b. Form I-872 American Indian Card for the Texas and Oklahoma Kickapoo American and Mexican members (Immigration and Naturalization Service).
- The acceptable identification documents listed above must include:
1. a photo of the applicant;
2. a unique identification number; and,
3. an expiration date.
- If you are unable to contact the registered owner and/or the leinholder, you will need a bonded title. See Bonded Title under Title Services for more information.
